Brooklyn rapper Bobby Shmurda appears to be keeping his head up after being transferred to Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, New York.
While speaking with fellow MCs Meek Mill and Trav over the phone this week, Shmurda gave an update on his condition.
“I’m good,” the 22-year-old said when asked how he was feeling. “I’m getting big, man. I’m writing every day. I got some shit, man.”
A portion of the conversation between the three artists was shared in a video Trav uploaded to his Instagram page.

“Me And Bro @meekmill On The Line With Lil Bro @bobby_shmurda #FreeThe9 Made Him Freestyle Real Quick,” Trav wrote in the caption to the short video.
With his writing claims, Shmurda was of course encouraged to let Meek and Trav hear something.
“Hatin-ass niggas never going nowhere … They never wanna see you go nowhere,” he raps over the phone, letting loose a flurry of bars.
Shmurda is expected to serve the remainder of his sentence in protective custody at Clinton Correctional Facility, where he was transferred after a fellow inmate attempted to stab him. He pleaded guilty on conspiracy and weapon charges in 2016.
