Gucci Mane stayed active throughout 2016, dropping more albums than some rappers dropped singles, and it looks like the East Atlanta Santa has big plans for 2017 too.

Earlier on Thursday, the ATL vet had tweeted “I’m dropping the hardest song of the year at midnight ,” and in the end he outdid himself, releasing “Make Love” featuring Nicki Minaj — 15 minutes before deadline.

The two made a show of solidarity with some Instagram photos earlier in February after years of ups and downs, and now we seem to have the result of their reunion.

The thump-and-plink track is pretty stripped back on the production, allowing both rappers to bring the heat with no distraction — the standout bar probably being Gucci’s “I’m tryna book Beyoncé for my wedding day/ I’m the type a nigga to spend a million on a wedding cake.”

Judging by Gucci’s tweet, the track is going to feature on his upcoming Drop Top Wop project, which hasn’t got a release date yet, but was said to be “coming soon” about a month ago. One thing’s for sure, though, if all the other tracks on the new record are as good as this one then Gucci is about to have another successful year.
