Houston, TX

With all eyes on Houston, Texas ahead of Super Bowl LI, the Migos delivered a motivational speech to the Atlanta Falcons ahead of their battle with the New England Patriots.

The Atlanta trio’s appearance at pre-game festivities has also fueled rumors that they are slated to perform during the halftime show of the big game, along with this brief chat with Complex, where they left the question playfully unanswered.

Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff took sat down with Sports Illustrated and, in their unique fashion, directed encouragement in the direction of the NFC champions. The brief video of the trio hyping their hometown squad up came complete with subtitles, perhaps for those unaccustomed to their deep southern accents.

“We ’bout to pipe this up, first off,” said Offest leading off, with Quavo taking up the slack with, “This one right here for all the marbles, we bringing the goose back.”

Offset had an especially passionate message for quarterback Matt Ryan, urging him to make standout wide receiver Julio Jones a focal point in tonight’s offensive scheme. Devonta Freeman was next mentioned by the gruff-voiced rapper with Takeoff finalizing things with, “It’s a team, y’all didn’t get here with one player.”

Pretty much like the Migos, one might say.

The crew has also been active in other Super Bowl-related activities, including an NFL fan event where the boys ran a 40-yard dash and met with Dallas Cowboys legend Emmitt Smith.

While a petition to replace Lady Gaga at the halftime show seems to have fallen short, the Migos did hand over a pair of custom cleats to Jones featuring artwork from the group’s latest album, Culture, and Donald Glover’s hit FX series, Atlanta.
