If a screenshot of a text message convo between Rick Rubin and Chicago MC Towkio is any clue, a collab between the Def Jam Records co-founder and Kanye West could be in the works.
In the apparent exchange between Towkio and Rubin, it was revealed that Rubin played the rapper’s “Swim” record for Kanye and former Vampire Weekend member Rostam Batmanglij.
The reveal of the convo between the pair has already birthed rumors that ‘Ye could possibly hop on Towkio’s “Swim” track thanks to Rubin, or that he could be collaborating with Rubin (and/or Batmanglij) in some other way.
Over a year ago, Towkio linked with another Chicago rhymer for his “Clean Up” record. The upbeat video dropped last year and featured a guest appearance from Kanye collaborator Chance The Rapper.
