Today, January 17, would be an ideal time for Plies to hop on an “Ain’t Worried About Nothin'” freestyle because he’s obviously not pressed about being busted for driving under the influence.
The 40-year-old veteran Florida street poet was arrested earlier this morning and booked into the Tampa’s Hillsborough County Jail and with the alleged DUI, TMZ reports. But being the avid and shrewd social media user he is, Plies (real name Algernod Lanier Washington) obviously knew the questions and conversation would be a brewing, so he took to Instagram to let the people know he was A-OK. (After being released on $500 bond, that is.)
“I Need A Tan Bih……,” he wrote for the caption of a photo of himself holding a glass full of a brownish glowing liquid, followed by a gaggle of laughing emojis and the hashtags “#Plies #RacksUpToMyEar #PurpleHeart? #RichNiggaShit #RanOffInDaPlugTwice #RitzCarlton.”
Plies’ last studio album arrived all the way back in 2010 in the form of Goon Affiliated, but that hasn’t stopped his hustle. As of press time, he has 4.8 million followers on Instagram to go with another 760,000 on Twitter.
