To kick off 2017, The Weeknd leads the pack on Billboard’s 200 albums chart. Along with the Moana soundtrack, projects from Bruno Mars, Drake and J. Cole help round out the Top 5 despite a drop in sales.
The Weeknd Regains Top Spot With Starboy Album
The Weeknd returns to his throne with Starboy jumping to the top spot in its sixth week on the chart with 69,408 equivalent album units. It debuted at #1 back in December and only lasted a week before J. Cole’s 4 Your Eyez Only came barging in. Even though Starboy moved up the chart this sales cycle, it actually had a 26 percent decrease in sales.
Drake Surges Back Into Top 5
Drake’s VIEWS climbs further up the list as it lands at #4 this week with 40,754 equivalent album units. In its 36th week on the chart, it rose four places from last week after dropping to #19 two sales cycles ago. This week’s figures are a 17 percent drop from last week’s.
