Detroit, MI

Trey Songz is back in the headlines for all the wrong reasons once more after being arrested for trashing a stage in Detroit when he was told his time was up.

Just days after a video surfaced of the singer being kicked out of a D.C. hotel, he’s been arrested for malicious destruction of property and obstruction of justice, The Detroit News reports. Songz became belligerent Wednesday (December 28) when he was told that his time on stage while performing at the Big Show at Joe Louis Arena was up.

Before the incident began, Trigga Trey addressed his fans: “They say they gon’ cut my mic off ’cause I’m taking too much time… All I want to do is give you the best show I’m capable of giving. If they cut me off remember it, and text whoever you want to, and tweet whoever you want to and tell everybody about it.

“Because if a nigga cuts me off, I’m going the fuck crazy.”

The news site also reports that Detroit Police Department spokesperson Dan Donakowski said after Songz was cut off, he became “upset and belligerent,” throwing equipment around the stage. An officer was hurt when one piece of equipment hit him in the head. He was transported to a hospital and released after treatment of his injuries.

As of Thursday morning, the 32-year-old singer was still being held in Detroit Detention Center.
