Just when things seemed to be going well with Chicago DJ duo Flosstradamus, news of a split comes out of left field.

Announcing the news Tuesday afternoon (December 20), Flosstradamus’ Josh Young revealed he is leaving the group to focus on his solo career, where he goes by the name Me2.

Throughout their more than 10-year career, the duo blended EDM with Hip Hop and Trap influences and worked with names like Diplo, Juicy J, The Cool Kids, A-Trak and more.

“It is after a lot of soul searching that I have decided to leave Flosstradamus and focus full time on my solo project,” Young said in the Instagram post. “I came to this decision at the end of summer but due to circumstances outside of my control I wasn’t able to make this announcement until after the Flosstradamus tour ended.”

He went on to thank his musical partner, their management team and the fans for all the support.

“Thank you all for the unforgettable, amazing experiences we shared together,” he said.

But fans of the trap duo are not left without hope. Flosstradamus will continue on with Curt Cameruci at the helm of the #HDYNATION.

Flosstradamus is scheduled to perform with Dillon Francis for the Dillstradamus Presents: IDGAFOS HDYFEST 3UNION  show at The Shrine in Los Angeles this Friday, December 23. HipHopDX reached out to find out if the duo would still be performing on stage together, although their rep couldn’t confirm anything at the time of publication.

The group is also set to perform at Australia’s FOMO Festival in January, where event organizers confirmed to The Music that both members would perform.
