Mere hours after Donald Glover scooped up an award for Best Comedy Actor at the Critics’ Choice Awards for his role in Atlanta, the FX series has been nominated for a prestigious award yet again.
During today’s (December 12) announcement of the nominees for the 2017 Golden Globes, it was revealed that Atlanta received a nomination for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy. Additionally, Glover received a nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy.
Although the HBO breakout series Insecure did not receive a Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy nod, the show’s creator and star, Issa Rae did score a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy.
And with six nominations, including Best Motion Picture, the Barry Jenkins-directed film Moonlight serves as an early favorite for the annual awards show.
