New York, NY

As Ab-Soul makes the press rounds in support of his new album Do What Thou Wilt (DWTW), he sat down with the hosts of The Breakfast Club to discuss a bevy of topics, but one of the most exciting revelations during the 26-minute interview was that the mythical J.Cole and Kendrick Lamar collaborative album is, in fact, still underway, and that Soulo himself recorded a verse for it.

When Charlamagne Tha God asked him if he had a verse on the collaborative record, Ab-Soul replied, “I can’t speak on that. I wish I could. These guys, they move like the mob. You never know with these guys … I don’t know too much about it. I just hope they use my verse.”

Charlamagne, who was apparently unsatisfied with his answer, prodded him a little more and asked, “But there is a Kendrick-Cole album?” to which Ab-Soul responded, “They got it. They got something in the works. They’ve been working on that muthafucka for a while.”

While it’s unclear when this project — which has been teased since as far back as 2012 — will actually see the light of the day, in the meantime, J.Cole’s new record, 4 Your Eyez Only, can currently be consumed here while Ab-Soul’s latest project, DWTW, is available for stream here.
