Inglewood, CA

It’s no secret that D.R.A.M. has had a phenomenal 2016. His hit single “Broccoli” featuring Lil Yachty not only managed to go double platinum but earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rap/Song Performance.

Taking some time to speak with Big Baby D.R.A.M. on the red carpet of last weekend’s Power 106 Cali Christmas concert at The Forum in Inglewood, he couldn’t have agreed on the success of his past 365 days more.

“The year of D.R.A.M. is a triumphant one,” he said. “It’s a defining one and it’s a blessed one.”

Next year seems to be even grander, promises the Hampton, Virginia artist who is also slated to eventually drop a collaborative EP with Erykah Badu. According to D.R.A.M., their “Wifi” joint from his Big Baby D.R.A.M. album was only the beginning.

“It’s so dope man,” he said. “We’ve been friends going on for about a year. We started talking and just being able to relate on music and just things in regards to life in general. To be able to work with her and make music with her is a blessing being that she’s one of my main inspirations coming up. It’s really good. ‘Wifi’ was just a taste. How about that?”

D.R.A.M. looks to carry the momentum of 2016 with a nationwide tour in promotion of his debut LP.
