Smash hit musical Hamilton is fresh from breaking two separate Broadway records last week, and now Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hip Hop masterpiece looks set to rack up another accolade as The Hamilton Mixtape is projected to top the Billboard 200 Albums chart.

The project, which features remixes of the musical’s songs performed by Hip Hop and R&B heavyweights such as Busta Rhymes, Nas, Usher, Ja Rule, Ashanti and Chance The Rapper, is expected to rack up anywhere between 175,000 and 200,000 album sales for the week ending December 8, according to Billboard’s industry insiders. Hits Daily Double projected slightly higher sales for the mix, ranging from between 195,000 – 205,000 units with sales plus streaming.

If The Hamilton Mixtape were to reach the top of the charts, it would peak higher than the original Broadway soundtrack album, which got as high as number 3.

Still, it could face a challenge from the current #1 album, The Weeknd’s Starboy, which had a massive opening last week, selling almost 348,000 equivalent units.

It’s also good news for Childish Gambino, whose latest album Awaken, My Love!is expected to move 110,000 – 115,000 units including streams. John Legend’s new Darkness & Lightalbum is projected to do between 34,000 and 39,000, according to HDD.
