After it was announced that J. Cole’s fourth studio album, 4 Your Eyez Only, will be released on December 9, the Dreamville head honcho dropped a 40-minute documentary titled “Eyez” via TIDAL.

The doc’ features previews of two new J. Cole songs, one of which, titled “False Prophets,” sees Cole rap over the same beat that Joey Bada$$ used for his 1999 track “Waves.”

After the song began to circulate online, Bada$$ took to Twitter to react to the news, revealing that J. Cole played him the song “months” prior to its recent preview.

“Imma tell Cole like I told Kanye earlier this year. … I still got the best Waves of all time! Haha” Joey Bada$$ tweeted, referencing Yeezy’s The Life of Pablo cut, before continuing in a subsequent post. “Nah but nothing but love for my big brother @JColeNC. He played the song for me & asked for my blessing on the beat months ago. Real one #4”
