Kanye West and the ordeal surrounding his hospitalization in California has been replete with developments since his admission and recent release. Adding to the drama are comments from West’s stepbrother, Hal Carmichael, who claims that the Chicago superstar is under fear for his life in the wake of wife Kim Kardashian’s Paris robbery earlier this year.

Carmichael spoke exclusively with UK publication The Sun Online and shared details behind his brother’s ongoing paranoia. While the comments haven’t been confirmed by West’s reps, it appears that the Chicago superstar was quite shaken by the robbery situation.

“No one thought Paris would happen in a million years and now he’s seen it happen to Kim, it’s traumatizing,” said Carmichael. “Ye is tired, he’s hurt, he feels betrayed and he’s probably feeling depressed.”

More of Carmichael’s speculative analysis of his brother’s troubles includes an observation that West is extremely mistrustful of late, which extends to the security teams hired to protect the family.

“I think Kanye got to a point when he was fearing for his life and for his family’s safety because of what went down in Paris – I think it took a toll on him,” added Carmichael.

Carmichael, whose mother was married to West’s father, shared that his brother’s hospital stay rocked the entire family and that he believes West is just exhausted as has been reported. Yeezy canceled the remaining stops of his Saint Pablo Tour prior to his hospitalization.

West left the hospital and returned home with his family yesterday.
