Ivory P, a rapper that was a former signee of the late Pimp C’s UGK Records, was shot and killed by police in Texas after leading cops on a wild chase. The artist born Ivory C. Pantallion reportedly pointed a weapon at officers from the Texas Department of Public Safety and Jefferson County deputies before being struck down.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies flagged Pantallion, 36, for a driving violation and attempted to pull him over in his 1998 Mercedes SUV, as reported by local outlet KBMT 12 News. Police reported that Pantallion attempted to hit a Baytown Police officer after the units put down a spike strip to slow down his vehicle.
After crashing in Baytown, Pantallion allegedly pointed a firearm at the DPS Troopers and Jefferson County deputies who returned fire and killing him at the scene. No officers were hit by gunfire in the exchange.
Pantallion had been arrested several times in the past for serious charges that were dismissed in time. One such case was human trafficking and simple kidnapping charges in 2013. According to KBMT, Pantallion was able to avoid jail time when a grand jury decided not to move forward with an indictment in the case.
