Hip Hop Album Sales: A Tribe Called Quest Earns #1 Album To Honor Phife Dawg

A Tribe Called Quest has the ultimate tribute to Phife Dawg as We got it from Here… Thank You 4 Your service tops Billboard’s 200 chart. Meanwhile, Rae Sremmurd and Drake remain in the Top 10.

Phife Dawg’s Legacy Honored With A Tribe Called Quest’s #1 Album

A Tribe Called Quest has landed a #1 album with We got it from Here… Thank You 4 Your service. The LP pushed 134,628 equivalent album units, had nearly 112,000 pure album sales and was streamed 28 million times across all major platforms. This serves as homage to late member Phife Dawg who passed away in March. Tribe’s only other #1 album is Beats, Rhymes and Life.

    Rae Sremmurd Not Slowing Down

The country continues to go crazy for the #MannequinChallenge and Rae Sremmurd is staying relevant. The duo’s SremmLife 2 lands at #4 this week, a one-position jump and nine percent sales increase from last week. This cycle, the LP posted 42,751 unit sales and was streamed nearly 35 million times. All of this after “Black Beatles” hit #1 on the Hot 100 chart as well.

    Drake’s “VIEWS” Rebounds

Despite a two percent decrease in sales this week, Drake’s VIEWS actually jumps three spots to land at #5. The project sold 31,910 units and was streamed close to 37 million times. While VIEWS is still carrying its momentum, Drizzy is preparing his More Life project.

    1. Damn near 80% of Tribe’s sales were people actually buying the album instead of just streaming it. Let that sink in.

    2. Amazing that Tribe sold that much kinda gives ya hope but then you look at the other trash selling and doubt it. The LOX album aint gonna do them numbers i know that much
