Killer Mike said that the reality television star and real estate mogul fed off anger to get people’s votes. T.I. and Meek Mill joined thousands across the nation in protesting The Donald’s rise to the Oval Office. The Atlanta rapper even called the Republican a voice for white supremacy.

Poetic Justice director and friend of Tupac’s, John Singleton, blasted the forthcoming All Eyez on Me film at ComplexCon. He spoke with HipHopDX’s senior features writer Ural Garrett about why he refuses to even watch the trailer for the Tupac biopic, which is spearheaded by L.T. Hutton and now directed by Benny Boom.

“I know that they fucked it up so I’m not even trying to give it any attention,” he said.
Garrett also spoke with R&B singer Sammie about his journey through the music industry. The 29-year-old details stepping away from the spotlight after success as a teenager and now finding his own lane.
“I consider myself the R&B savior and I don’t have to ‘conform’ to the way R&B has to sound right now,” he said. “I like that I can sound like myself, be different and have my own lane. The blessing was being underground and do what I do.”
Senior news writer Victoria Hernandez offered another insight into the independent R&B world by speaking with Eric Bellinger about the success of his Eric B For President project. In the midst of the political controversy, the husband and father wants his life to speak just as much as his music in offering hope and love.

“It’s all about entertainment,” he says of society today. “Now, it’s a little sick to see that it even goes up as high as the presidency, but the people and just everyone, it’s not the same. It’s not the same morals. It’s not the same values that we grew up on. So I think it’s low-key like this is what needs to be done in order to get people’s attention because, I’m saying as far as like all the madness that’s going on because it’s a little bit different. The patience is different, the overall just climate is just crazy. So people are kinda rolling with it and it’s a little scary to me to be honest.”
