In the ongoing battle to get Ab-Soul‘s new album, supposedly called DWTW, out to the world, Soulo answered TDE’s Top Dawg and his call for him to finish up the project.

The Carson, California rapper responded to the exec’s tweet by saying that he and MixedByAli along with Top Dawg’s son Moosa were indeed heading to the studio to get the job done.

So far, two singles have been released for the follow-up to 2014’s These Days…, Braille” and “Huey Knew.”

Ab-Soul supposedly turned in the tracklist for DWTWin June and Top Dawg said he had the final mixes in August. But clearly, those weren’t the final mixes.

(This article was first published November 12, 2016 and is as follows.)

Ab-Soul officially has less than two months to release his new album before the end of 2016. While multiple steps towards the drop have been announced, there have been multiple hiccups and TDE’s Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith shared the most recent update on the project, supposedly titled DWTW, on Twitter Thursday (November 10).

Top Dawg says that the follow-up to 2014’s These Days…is awaiting final mixing and that is in the hands of the label’s in-house engineer, MixedByAli, and Soulo himself. So he’s tired of answering fan Q&As about the delay.

He’s kept his word and hasn’t tweeted since (except for sharing a link to an Instagram post, but we won’t count that).

No response from Ab-Soul or MixedByAli either.

The second single from DWTW, “Braille” featuring Bas, dropped last week to keep fans somewhat satisfied with new Soulo music along with the banger “Huey Knew.”

Last month, Top Dawg promised a total of six releases before 2017 rings in. He’s a majority of the way there with Kendrick Lamar’s untitled unmastered., ScHoolboy Q’s Blank Face LP,Isaiah Rashad’s The Sun’s Tiradeand Lance Skiiiwalker’s Introverted Intuition. Fans are also itching for SZA’s follow-up to Z, but the singer said in October that she quit.
