The release of A Tribe Called Quest’s We got it from Here… Thank You 4 Your servicecan’t come soon enough, but the legendary group announced a special treat that should make the release of their final album a little sweeter. There will be a pop-up shop in New York around the time of the album’s drop to celebrate the swan song, according to OkayPlayer.
The NYC pop-up shop will feature T-shirts, jackets, physical copies of the CD and other items to commemorate We got it from Here… Thank You 4 Your service. The first day will be the date of the album’s release, November 11 and the shop will carry into the weekend as it will be up November 12 and 13 as well at 393 Broadway Street. The store’s hours will be 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. EST on the project’s drop day, then will open at noon and close at 8 p.m. EST the next two days. Fans not in the Empire State can purchase the items online.
The journey to this album, which will feature new Phife Dawg verses and guest appearances from André 3000, Kendrick Lamar and Busta Rhymes, was an emotional one after Phife passed away in March from complications due to diabetes.
The rest of Tribe — Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Jarobi White — is also preparing to appear on Saturday Night Live that weekend with Dave Chappelle in what should be a pretty epic evening.
