Atlanta, Ga

MCs often rap about the seemingly endless gun violence as part of their art, but sadly, it’s often a case of art imitating life. Early Wednesday morning (November 3), rising Atlanta producer Lil Money (real name Demandril Jackson) and uncle to prodigious 6-year-old child rapper, Bankroll PJ, was shot and killed protecting his nephew, Atlanta’s Fox 5 reports.

Viral sensation Bankroll PJ has garnered nearly half a million Instagram followers and his hit “Jump In” has gathered nearly a million hits on YouTube thanks to the images of him flashing $100 bills. The ambitious elementary school student also appeared in a recent episode of the hit FX series, Atlanta.

The shooting began on Tuesday night (November 2), when shots rang out and the 22-year-old producer and manager was fatally struck. Tragically, this isn’t the first time Bankroll PJ has been exposed to gun violence. Last March, another uncle, Trentavious White, better known as Bankroll Fresh, was murdered outside of his Atlanta studio.

“There’s nothing to explain to him that he doesn’t already know,” Jackson’s aunt Iasha Parker told the news outlet about Bankroll PJ’s well-being. “He was there. He saw it. He knows what’s going on. He’s being strong. He’s 6-years-old. He just needs his family support.”

Jackson leaves behind a daughter.

HipHopDX sends its condolences to Demandril “Lil Money” Jackson’s family and friends.
