Questlove has revealed a welcome bit of news for those eager for new music from The Roots.

Questo confirmed that the noted Philly group is currently at work crafting their 17th album, End Game. The drummer shared the news in the caption to a video of The Procussions’ Stro Elliot getting busy with a new beat.

“In 1996 w our 3rd album #IlladelphHalflife we decided to be our own sampling source and jam in the day and sample ourselves at night,” Questlove wrote. “20 years later we are working on our 17th album entitled #Endgame….& we startin all over again. Here the gawd @StroElliot is breaking out his get busy tools and making ish sound tight!”

In another Instagram post, Questlove staunchly declared that “We Comin For Blood Man” with End Game.

Social media has also confirmed that producer Karriem Riggins is lending a helping hand with the latest from The Roots. Riggins has worked alongside the likes of J Dilla, Common, and Erykah Badu.

“I’m here in sunny NYC recording with my fav group The Roots! I just heard some amazing music. Ahmir is keepin it so funky,” Riggins wrote in a Facebook post sent yesterday (October 18).

Additional details on End Game, which will serve as a follow up to The Roots’ 2014 release …And Then You Shoot Your Cousin, have yet to be revealed.
