Revered turntablist Cut Chemist spent last weekend in Denver, Colorado, where he was opening three sold-out nights at The Fillmore for EDM artist Tipper. On a rare day off, the Jurassic 5 DJ was able to do some record digging in the tiny town of Fort Collins, 65 miles north of the Mile High City.
During the seven-hour excursion, he announced his new Dublab radio show, which he archives on Mixcloud as “A Stable Sound” podcast. The program celebrated its inaugural episode October 1 and featured four and half hours of innovative turntablism and genre-bending selections. Guest appearances included Thes One (People Under The Stairs), Hymnal, Marvski, The Gaslamp Killer, Beat Junkies, and a slew of Cut’s favorite tracks, plus an interview with Mark the 45 King.
“I felt like it was time for me to share my archive of music with the world on a larger scale than just doing shows,” Cut tells DX.
“The son of Odin came to me in a dream and told me to,” he laughs. “No honestly, Dublab asked me if I wanted to do it and that’s all they had to do.”
