Afroman is currently riding the success of his single Because I got High, but he is now being sued by a former manager.
Naeema Mansur, the artist’s former manager, has filed a lawsuit claiming that her ex-client breached their contract, which was originally signed in late 1999. The claim also states that Universal Records and Universal Music Group interfered with her relationship with Afroman, in order to get him signed to the label.
She’s suing for damages incurred from the revenue she lost by not getting in on Afroman’s contract. Because I got High is currently receiving a great deal of play and is featured in the film Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.
