The relationship between rappers Lil Wayne and Young Thug has been puzzling to say the least, but in a handful of tweets sent early this morning (September 5), Thugger again expressed his appreciation for his “idol.”

In addition to offering praise for Weezy, Thug said he hoped the Young Money lyricist was sorry for “bashing” him. The Atlanta musician’s Barter 6 album, and his decision to initially title the project Carter 6, wasn’t taken lightly by Wayne.

“@LilTunechi I promise I’m holding u down no matter what… fuck the world and what they think\feel I’m with u for life, ur the reason I rap………I just wish u could love me the way I love u big bro… ur my idol for life and I hope ur sorry for bashing me, not knowing how much I love u,” Young Thug wrote in two separate tweets.

Young Thug’s tweets come shortly after Wayne expressed his need for “serenity” via possible retirement from the rap game. The vague tweets also set off concerns about Wayne’s wellbeing.
