The soundtrack for Suicide Squad matches the movie’s success at the box office. Drake’s VIEWS sits at #2 for another week and Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange charts in anticipation of his next album.

“Suicide Squad” Dominates Charts

The Suicide Squad soundtrack debuts at the top position on Billboard’s Top 200 albums chart. The project includes songs from Eminem, G-Eazy, Kevin Gates and Kehlani and sold 182,084 album equivalent units. It was streamed 32.6 million times its first week. The film hit #1 at the box office with $135.1 million its first weekend. According to the publication, the last soundtrack to debut at #1 was Disney’s Descendants, which appeared at the top a year ago. Suicide Squad is the highest-selling soundtrack since Fifty Shades of Gray opened with 210,000 units in February of 2015.

Drake’s “VIEWS” Slips

Drake sits at #2 again. His VIEWS album has still spent 12 weeks at the top, but has yet to pass any other benchmarks since DJ Khaled’s Major Key dethroned the Toronto rapper last week. This week, the album sold 73,000 units and was streamed more than 74 million times.

Frank Ocean’s “Channel Orange” Charts

The fans are waiting. And waiting. And waiting. Still no Boys Don’t Cry, but the people are getting their Frank Ocean fix with Channel Orange, which is charting four years after its release. This week, it lands at #89 with 6,808 album equivalent units and 6.8 million streams. This was a 47 percent jump from last week where it charted at 146.
