Brothers to reality star Toya Wright, Josh and Rudy Johnson, were reportedly shot and killed in their hometown of New Orleans early Sunday (July 31) morning, BET reports.
New Orleans Police Department confirmed that two men were discovered inside of a car in the 7th ward near the corner of Pauger and North Miro streets, according to the NOPD’s official Twitter account. They suffered from multiple shot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Wright learned of her brothers’ untimely deaths while on stage at a venue in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and understandably “stormed off.”
The 32-year-old personality addressed the fatal shooting on her Instagram. “Help me Lord I will never understand this,” she captioned under a picture of Rudy and Josh.
Rudy was an expectant father and his girlfriend lamented his passing on Instagram as well according to screenshots obtained by Famelous.
Fans and celebrities have poured out their condolences for Wright’s loss including longtime frenemy K. Michelle who tweeted out Toya her support, despite the two blocking each other on social media years ago.
“Nobody deserves that type of pain,” the singer wrote in a series of tweets. “We may never be best friend but U are my sister in Christ. I pray for u and your whole family.”
As of now, who the possible suspects could be or a possible motive has not been disclosed by police.
Aside from being the ex-wife and mother to Lil Wayne‘s oldest daughter Reginae Carter, Toya Wright is also one of the stars of Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars on We tv and also stands as an accomplished author. She reportedly filed for divorce from her husband Memphitz on Wednesday (July 27) after five years of marriage and attempts at reconciliation.
