More than 80 people died, including at least 10 children, when a man purposely drove a truck through a crowd that was celebrating Bastille Day in Nice, France on Thursday night. The driver, identified as a 31-year-old Tunisian man living in France named Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, reportedly drew a gun on police and was shot and killed by them.

French President Francois Hollande called the incident a terrorist attack though Bouhlel has not been linked to any terrorist group. BFM TV reported that the father-of-three became depressed after the breakdown of his marriage and that he had a criminal history that included domestic violence, robbery, and assault with a weapon.

Tributes from around the world poured in for the victims of the attack, the second major incident to hit France in less than a year. Last November, a series of organized terror attacks in Paris killed 130 people.
