Busta Rhymes has spoken out for the first time since he was accused of ‘hiding out’ in LA to avoid cooperation with the police.
During a performance at Power 105.1’sBirthday Bash in Long Island on Sunday, Busta took a moment out of his set to remember bodyguard Israel ‘Izzy’ Ramirez.
Ramirez was murdered on the video set of Touch It (Remix) in Brooklyn, NY, early last month.
“The media is trying to make me look like a real sh*t bag!” exclaimed Busta. “They got a n*gga looking real crazy.”

Talking to the crowd, Busta explained exactly what had happened that fateful day, clearing up any confusion caused by the media.
“We went to work that day,” he explained. “We were having a productive day when unfortunate situations transpired and killed my friend. But we’re going to have fun honoring Izzy’s name… F*ck the media!”
Busta went on to inform fans that the video shoot was originally intended to support and promote unity, in the face of all the hip hop beef.
“N*ggas running around beefing like they the hardest – I’m tired of it,” he barked. Rhymes continued to talk about how he was in the industry to get money and have fun; to make the fans ‘feel good’ more than anything else.
