Dizzy Wright dropped The 702 EP today (7-02) to pay tribute to his hometown of Las Vegas.

The project is made up of eight tracks and is the follow-up to the LV spitter’s Wisdom and Good Vibes EPwhich dropped in January. The 702 EP is more reflective than the last output as Wright seeks to tell his personal story against the backdrop of the perception everyone has of Vegas as an “adult-oriented theme park.”

Fellow Las Vegas artists Reezy and Easy Redd make appearances on the EP as well as Skate Maloley, who hails from Omaha.

Dizzy Wright is putting on for his hometown as he announced The 702 EP today. The title of the project comes from the area code of Las Vegas.

The 702 EP is set to drop July 2 (7/02 of course) and has eight songs on the tracklist. Features are said to come from Reezy, Easy Redd and Skate Maloley. Production will be handled by MLB, Louie Haze, LarryMakingAllTheHits, FreezeOnTheBeat and Alex Lustig.

This is the follow-up to Dizzy Wright’s Wisdom and Good Vibes EP in January.

Dizzy Wright was a member of Funk Volume, but the label dissolved when co-founder Hopsin broke away, leaving his business partner, Damien Ritter, to manage the rest of the roster.

“I would say everything was like a fucking cut that just got worse, that had a Band-Aid on it and was supposed to heal,” the Las Vegas rapper said to HipHopDX about the fallout. “And then some kind of way it just got worse. Maybe we scraped that cut across something and didn’t realize it and next thing you know you’re gushing blood. It was out of my control, though. Everything happens for a reason.”
