Kanye West once again triumphed at yet another music award show, this time the 2006 Shock Waves NME Awards in London.

‘Kanyeezy’ beat off heavy competition from Anthony & The Johnsons, Richard Ashcroft, Graham Coxon and Ian Brown, to take home the Best Solo Artist award at the ceremony, held at London’s Hammersmith Palais.

The award-winning rapper/producer was on hand to collect his gong in person, as he is currently in the country, playing the last few dates of his UK tour. Kanye looked cool and comfortable in his outfit, donning a pair of white-rimmed shades, matched with a black leather jacket and what appeared to be jogging bottoms.

Meanwhile, in the same ceremony, Kanye’s adversary, President George W. Bush was awarded the Villain Of The Year gong. He was in the running alongside British prime minister, Tony Blair, and artists James Blunt, Pete Doherty, and Justin Hawkins.

Bush was not in attendance.

The NME Awards are voted for by the public, and the full list of winners can be viewed at http://www.nme.com.

In related Kanye news, the Roc-A-Fella star has hit back at claims that he is a ‘sex addict’. The College Dropout recently told Playboy magazine about his adult film and website fetish that is so severe the rapper has porn on him ‘at all times’.

Kanye refutes this statement, and has told fans on his UK tour that the reporter inflated his comments.

“You sit down with these fucking journalists and the second you say what you think, they use it against you,” he told the crowd at his London concert on Monday (20 February).
