Cannes, France

TMZ strikes out again. Or at least that’s what Chris Brown says.

The news outlet reported today (June 4) that the singer stomped on the head of Malek Mokrani, a fan who attended a concert in Cannes. The man was reportedly hospitalized with head and neck pain. The site got ahold of video of the fight and a picture that showed Mokrani in a neck brace.

The singer took to Instagram to clap back at TMZ and say that they had their facts wrong.

“Let me address this shit real fast,” he says in the video post. “Hey TMZ, fuck ya.”

Breezy says that he was hosting an event at Gotha, a nightclub in the French city and that he was cool with the owner. The night, just like his “One Hell of a Night Tour,” was going smoothly until he ran into Mokrani, who Brown says was not a fan, but a security guard.

“No fans were hurt by Chris Brown,” he says. “No fans were beat up by Chris Brown. I met the owner. Shook his hand. We were partying everything else. His staff, though, security I don’t think he probably knew who I was, I don’t care, but he assaulted me, grabbed his hand around my throat and tried to push me out the spot when we were walking. My security was already advanced to another spot. So we handled the situation accordingly and moved on. This has to be a month old. So gotta get y’all news faster and stop lying to people saying we beat up fans. I don’t do that. But don’t get it fucked up.”

The Royalty singer blasted TMZ in September when they published a story saying that a Gay Pride event was suing the singer for not showing up to perform. Brown said he was never scheduled to appear at the event and criticized the outlet for making him seem homophobic.
