OutKast fans want a halftime show performance at the 2019 Super Bowl in Atlanta.
Almost immediately after it was announced that the city of Atlanta would host the 2019 Super Bowl, fans of OutKast rallied around the idea of a halftime show performance from the Southern duo.
One Twitter user, @JiggaRay created the #OutkastForSuperBowlLIIII hashtag, in the hopes that an OutKast halftime show will come to fruition.
News of fans’ halftime show request comes months after it was revealed that OutKast passed on performing at the coveted show. Big Boi shared the news during an interview on ESPN’s The Dan LeBatard Show, and also expressed his hope that they’ll be invited to perform at the Super Bowl in the future.

“We were supposed to perform at the Super Bowl, but we had two songs, ‘The Way You Move’ and ‘Hey Ya’ and Dre didn’t want to split the songs up,” Big Boi said. “He didn’t want to cut the songs. He wanted to do both songs. They was like, ‘Y’all can’t do it’…We look at it now, we laugh, but hopefully they’ll invite us back.”
The city of Atlanta has hosted the Super Bowl twice, once in 1994, and years later in 2000.
In 1994, the Super Bowl halftime show boasted a “Rockin’ Country Sunday” theme, and featured performances from Clint Black, Travis Tritt, and The Judds. The halftime show in 2000 brought about a more diverse lineup of entertainers, which included Phil Collins, Christina Aguilera, Enrique Iglesias, and Toni Braxton.
