The initial defiance of Azealia Banks in wake of the forfeiture of her Twitter account has resulted in a change of heart.
Banks has adopted Instagram as her medium of choice in wake of her 140-character silencing and in between reposting support from her most diehard fans, she decided to swallow her pride and issue a full apology directed at those who may have been directly affected with her choice of words regarding the usage of the terms “sand nigger” and “faggot.”
Dear World,
Now that the immediacy of the infamous incident has worn off, I’ve had some time to decompress & take a more rational assessment of things. I want to extend my sincerest apologies to the world. Employing racial/sexual slurs/stereotypes in attempts to make fun of or degrade another person or group is absolutely unacceptable and is not fair or fun for anyone. Allowing my anger to get the best of me, I’ve managed to insult millions of people without reason. And for that I give my deepest apologies.
Her ill-advised tongue lashing of Zayn Malik and 14-year-old Disney star Skai Jackson is what resulted in Banks having her Twitter account removed for “abusive behavior” to begin with.

In a since-deleted IG post, Banks claimed her account wasn’t removed until she targeted the powers that be, writing “Whiteness is a mental illness.”
