This week in Hip Hop, Birdman offered an apology to The Breakfast Club anchors Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy following his now infamous, expletive-ridden microwave interview last week, in which he demanded the popular radio program show him more respect. Elsewhere this week, Rick Ross sent The Breakfast Club six cases of Luc Belaire Rosé following Birdman’s interview and lastly, Rachel Roy, the ex-wife of Damon Dash, addressed rumors that she is the mistress referenced Beyoncé’s newly released track “Sorry.”

Birdman Offers Apology To “The Breakfast Club”

After cursing out The Breakfast Club anchors Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy live on-air last Friday (April 22), Birdman had a change of heart and offered an apology to the show’s hosts.

“I spoke to Birdman after that and he did apologize and he said he would love to come back up here and talk to us,” DJ Envy said during a follow-up segment detailing what went down following Birdman’s now-infamous microwave interview.

Charlamagne Tha God was, however, less receptive to Birdman’s offer of reconciliation.

“I don’t ever want to talk to Birdman,” he said. “I’m cool on Birdman. They was calling me yesterday trying to get us on the phone, I’m good. I didn’t know Birdman before this. I don’t need to know Birdman after this. God bless him. I wish him the best. I’m cool on Birdman.”

“Bottles from Rozay this morning,” host Charlamagne Tha God can be heard saying in the video, which was posted to The Breakfast Club’s YouTube page three days after Birdman’s interview. “Salute to Ricky Rozay, sent over these six cases of Belaire Rosé.”

During Birdman’s interview with The Breakfast Club, the Cash Money Records CEO said that he was pulling up on Charlemagne. The radio personality then asked Birdman if he pulled up on Rick Ross and Trick Daddy in the same manner.

Last year, Birdman was among the topics of conversation when both Rick Ross and Trick Daddy were interviewed for The Breakfast Club.

Rick Ross used the radio show to voice his support for Lil Wayne during Weezy’s contractual woes with Birdman.

“Just seeing what Wayne’s going through as an artist, that’s something I took personal,” Rozay said in his in interview. “I can’t respect that, and I won’t respect that.”

During his appearance, Trick Daddy questioned Birdman’s dedication to business in light of other focuses.

“I’ve done business with Birdman. Some was good, some was bad. I just think when you try and be a CEO, when you try to be a rapper, and you try and be a ladies man, and you trying to be a girlfriend, and you trying to be a crip and a blood… You ever saw a Cash Money office? You ever saw a picture? There ain’t one.”

Rachel Roy Releases Statement Amidst Rumors Jay Z Cheated On Beyoncé With Her

The social media world exploded recently thanks to one particular line on Beyoncé’s sixth studio album, LEMONDADE. Beyoncé hints at infidelity throughout the project, but the strongest reference comes on “Sorry” where she sings: “He only want me when I’m not there / He better call Becky with the good hair.”

Rachel Roy, the ex-wife of Damon Dash, took to Twitter late last week (April 24) to address reports that she is the mistress referenced on the song.

“I respect love, marriages, families and strength,” she says. “What shouldn’t be tolerated by anyone, no matter what, is bullying, of any kind.”

Prior to this, however, Roy uploaded a post to Instagram referecing the now-infamous “Becky” line.

“Good hair, don’t care, but we will take good lighting, for selfies, or self truths, always,” the fashion designer writes for the caption of a picture of her and a friend taking a selfie.

However, in a statement later issued to PEOPLE, Roy admitted that her post was misunderstood and attempted to clarify her intentions.

“I want to put the speculation and rumors to rest,” Roy says. “My Instagram post was meant to be fun and lighthearted, it was misunderstood as something other than that. There is no validity to the idea that the song references me personally. There is no truth to the rumors.”
