Paterson, NJ

P-Dice, a former member of Fetty Wap’s Remy Boyz crew, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder, according to the Paterson Press.

The publication reports that police detectives arrested an individual on Friday afternoon (April 22) in connection to the shooting in which a stray bullet wounded Jaiden DeLeon, a seven-year-old boy, in Paterson, New Jersey on February 29.

Citing sources, the publication reports that the individual has since been identified as 29-year-old Justin Pope, perhaps better known by his stage name as P-Dice. The news release announcing the arrest described the individual as “an alleged actor in this incident.”

The seven-year-old boy was playing at home with his siblings when a stray bullet came through the window and hit him in the shoulder, according to ABC 7 Eyewitness News.

The authorities have said that there has been no indication that Pope was trying to shoot anyone inside the residence.

A short while after the shooting, the mother of Jaiden DeLeon, Diana Irizarri, moved her family out of the apartment where the incident took place on Rosa Parks Boulevard – a street that has a history of gun violence.

“I’m so excited,” Diana Irizarri said of P-Dice’s arrest. “My whole family is happy about this. I give props to the Paterson Police Department. They did their job.”

As of press time, the authorities have not revealed what evidence linked P-Dice to the shooting.

In addition to attempted murder, P-Dice has been charged with weapons offenses and possession of a defaced firearm.
