Hopsin recalls Crooked I being highly upset months after Funk Volume and Horseshoe Gang battle.
According to Los Angeles rapper Hopsin, Crooked I threatened to visit him at his Los Angeles show following a perceived diss. During an interview with Vlad TV, Hopsin spoke on the fallout that resulted after he posted a fan’s “Fuck Horseshoe Gang” t-shirt on Instagram.
The rapper explained that although the photo was posted months after the back-and-forth battle between Funk Volume and Horseshoe Gang, a rap group comprised of Crooked I’s biological brothers, the Slaughterhouse lyricist was heated after coming across the photo.

“They didn’t kill Funk Volume. It was a fun battle…Things kinda went too far,” Hopsin said. “I don’t know their background like that…Crooked I, they all threatened to come to my show. And I didn’t know what was gonna happen. I was like ‘Fuck, dude’…Everything was dead, but then I saw a fan at a show. And this was just like two months into the tour we did. Horseshoe Gang was like two months ago. It was all done. But then a fan just had a shirt that said ‘Fuck Horseshoe Gang.’ And I thought it was funny…So, I took a picture of him and posted it on Instagram. Crooked I got mad.”
Hopsin says he considered taking the post down, but was encouraged by friends not to. Upon texting Crooked I about the photo, he says he soon realized that the rapper was at a level of anger “that was out of Hip Hop.”
“I texted him…cause I saw that he was really upset by it,” he said. “And he was on some–It turned into some gangster shit real quick. And I’m not about that life. That’s not my world at all…They’re like ‘You’ll look like a bitch if you take it down.’ I’m like ‘Bro, this is beyond rap’…I didn’t know how to feel about it. Cause Crooked I, he was clearly expressing an anger that was out of Hip Hop. And I didn’t know where he was gonna take it.”
