With tax day around the corner, Nas better dot his i’s and cross his t’s because the Queensbridge, New York rapper has been hit with a tax lien for $145,000.
According to the Jasmine Brand, Nas owes the debt to the state of Georgia for unpaid taxes from 2008. The original deficit was $58,000, but the interest, collection fees and other factors raised the amount to $145,708.33.
The site says that the legend was hit with a lien last year, claiming he owes $276,439.80 for the year 2006. With the two debts, Nas owes $422,569.13 to the state of Georgia.
The Illmatic rapper was reportedly hit with a tax lien for more than $1 million in 2012 for not paying up during the years 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010. Earlier that year, the U.S. Government claimed that he owed more than $6 million in unpaid taxes.
