The house that To Pimp a Butterfly built was so sturdy that even its early blueprints are obtaining residuals. Kendrick Lamar’s untitled unmastered has debuted at No. 1.
Kendrick Lamar recently surprised the world when released his untitled unmastered album on March 4 without warning save for the behest of LeBron James. With Nielsen Music calcuating 178,000 equivalent album units (142,000 of the sum pure album sales) in the week ending March 10, the Top Dawg Entertainment marquee star has earned his second consecutive album atop the Billboard 200 chart, Billboard reports.
The Grammy Award-magnet Butterfly was released on March 16, 2015, and hit No. 1 with 363,000 equivalent album units in its first week, of which 324,000 were in pure album sales.

Great music!
Can’t stop King Kunta
Drake’s surprise releases do at least 400k so k dot still flopping just like chris brown, who resorting to payola and buying massive downloads for the single, back to sleep. Very few people are actually paying for that chris brown crap.
But 43 million streams kid. You ain’t gotta lie to kick it my ninja you or that actor.
How much money do you make? Serious question….
Last time I checked, WATTBA barely did 400K. K-Dot ain’t flopping if he’s still scoring a number one album. And Chris didn’t use payola and one person can’t buy massive downloads for one single, which is impossible. If a song’s a hit, then people are buying it and paying for it. Think with logic next time.
I will be making my purchase soon. Shout out to Kdot an supporters of that quality Hiphop.. Be Healthy
views will do 1 mill in a week. How does it feel kendrick fans to know that views will outsell kendricks whole carreer?
How does it feel to constantly dedicate a portion of your life writing these stupid comments everyday trying to annoy people?
I never understood why you idiot trolls even take the time out of your day to try and start arguments over the internet. Is your life really that dull and boring that this is the way you get your kicks?
How does it feel knowing Kendrick Lamar has more Grammies than Drake?
like grammies mean anything? Kendrick will never go platinum again in his life. He is lucky GKMC went platinum cus of a drake feature now his sales are declining continuously
Grammies do have significance though. They represent outstanding achievements in music recognized by industry peers, critics and fans. Kendrick Lamar holds more statues than your boy for a reason. And GKMC going platinum because of a Drake feature is laughable.
To Pimp A Butterfly has already gone platinum. Damn you’re retarded.
Only because of some bs rule change that counts singles streams as part of albums. It’s still weak platinum while Drake goes strong platinum each time. Kendricks new album won’t even go gold.
@OVO No, he’s still platinum regardless and there’s no such thing as weak platinum or strong platinum, he’s still a platinum artist. And untitled unmastered will go gold. Never underestimate this guy. @drake runs rap Drake had nothing to do with GKMC going platinum, that’s all Kendrick.
Kendrick didn’t get pissed on by tips homie in a movie theater or get smacked up by diddy tho….
And K DOT didnt need the help of any ghost writers either.
100k in the first week. Hmm. He’ll get gold. Stop denying greatness. I like Drake, but he’s nowhere NEAR Kendrick.
Good for Kendrick and real rap. Im checking the stores today to cop this album.
Cant wait for that homo Drake to drop another shitty album for all these whiney lil internet bitchs to comment on
Kendrick deserves every bit of success and praise he’s getting. He’s, without question, the best out right now (not including the legends of course).
Its not about how much it is selling….its about how much we can relate to it, fuck that popin drake shit!
Besides he dropped album almost unannounced
