Other Hip Hop-inspired moments at the ceremony included when an actor portraying Suge Knight appeared when Rock was acknowledging people who inspired films that were created this year, including the N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton. The Knight stand-in was first shown in a straight jacket and orange prison jumpsuit. He was later shown eating Girl Scout cookies after Rock’s daughters went through the crowd to sell the treats.

Straight Outta Compton was nominated for Best Original Screenplay, but lost to Spotlight, the film that won Best Picture.

The Oscars closed to Public Enemy‘s “Fight The Power.”
