Eminem’s latest LP, Curtain Call: The Hits, has sold over 440,000 copies in its first week, sending it straight in at number one on the Billboard Albums Chart.
The ‘greatest hits’ album marks the fourth straight chart-topping debut of Eminem’s career. It follows Encore, which received first-week sales of 711,000, while 2002’s The Eminem Show and 2000’s The Marshall Mathers LP both sold more than one million copies to get to the top of the charts.
According to Sound Scan figures, Em’s latest chart topper is the result of a rather busy week for sales, partly due to last week’s Grammy,/b> nominations.
Curtain Call outsold it’s closest competitors by more than 200,000 copies, beating Lil’ Wayne’sTha Carter II, which debuts at number two with 238,000 scans, while Korn’s new album, See You On The Other Side, landed at number three with sales of close to 221,000.
