Azealia Banks Lashes Out At White Feminists Over Beyonce’s “Formation”

Since dropping “Formation” out of the blue Saturday and later giving a Black Panther-inspired Super Bowl Halftime show performance, everyone from former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani to conservative news pundits have bashed Beyonce for being “anti-police.” Queen Bey even received criticism as being racially exclusive by several white feminists. Leave it to Azealia Banks to swing into action via Twitter today (February 10).

“Them bitches are NOT your friends,” screamed the Broke With Expensive Taste rapper in a series of posts. Known for her controversial tweets over the years, the New York artist hasn’t released new music since her 2014 debut due to label issues. According to her Twitter, her next single should be called “The Big Big Beat.”

Recently Rudy Giuliani labeled the song and video an attack to police officers.

“I thought it was really outrageous that she used it as a platform to attack police officers,” Giuliani says, “who are the people who protect her and protect us to keep us alive. What she should be doing in the African-American community and in all communities is build up respect for police officers and focus on the fact that when something goes wrong then, okay, we’ll work on that. The vast majority of police officers risk their lives to keep us safe.”

This also comes as reports of pro and anti-Beyonce rallies are planned this week in front of the National Football League headquarters in New York City.

      1. I don’t see anything wrong with Azealia’s comment, she knows what she’s talking about. This is an issue for BLACK Americans; children are being murdered, men and women are victims of injustice and police brutality.Peep the news/internet. The list is endless. The video expresses just that, (along with SELF BLACK LOVE x EXCELLENCE!), “STOP SHOOTING US”. The police are hear to only protect and serve white communities and to abide white supremacy. You can’t respect and support a system that is in place to tear you down. A system that doesn’t want space for black and brown folks. ANTI – COP? SERIOUSLY!? YA’LL STFU w/ that fuckery. WHERE?! You are an idiot, and ignorant. I pity people like you. White people need to shut the fuck up and exit themselves from conversations that do not involve them, ( unless they are here as ALLIES, and they WOKE as fuck).

      2. I totally understand bro and I’m black myself but if she really cared she would do something about the situation to help cause all she does is go on Twitter rants as oppose to actually standing firm on a situation and moving to change it, doesn’t help her image as being sincere being she posed naked for Playboy for a check, what kind of message did that send to little black girls? I haven’t heard her mention the Flint water crises or anything pertaining to uplifting or helping black lives out, she’s a self serving attention seeker that has no talent and no self respect

    1. Beyonce is trash. Nothing says Black Lives Matter more than Beyonce shaking her ass and screaming how she got a negro nose. Just WTF are you listening to? The lyrics don’t match what they portray the song to be. Its like me making a song about waffles but tell the people its about Black Lives Matter and Black Pride. Use your BRAIN!

      1. You need to use your brain cause your stupid AF and the song totally went over your head cause your a little white suburban kid who can’t identify with black people or culture cause I understand every lyric

    2. Beyonce went too far because she acts like there’s no black cops that shoot other black people. The FACT is that most black people are dead because of another black. Im against police brutality by the way… but that RACIST heffa Beyonce tried to paint all white people with that police brutality brush.

      1. Not true, if your a white person or police officer and you know your not racist then you understand that the message doesn’t apply to you

    3. Lmao @ anyone thinking Beyond is “embracing her blackness”. She is blatantly exploiting black death for profit, because it’s a hot topic now.. Y’all are insane if u think it’s sincere.. #NewSlaveOwner and ppl eat it up…. Then again, Azealia Banks always been a dumb broad..

      1. So when her and Jay was bailing out the people in Baltimore, and giving BLM 1.5 million among other things, its a profit? Try again.

    4. Beyonce is not bringing attention or awareness to anything except herself. She used blacklivesmatter to promote herself and her music just like she used the superbowl to promote herself and her music. C’mon people. She cherry picked a black person killed in SF and ran with it, even though Mario Woods had a knife, wouldn’t drop it and had already stabbed somebody. Mario Woods is not the injustice that the Rodney King, Louima or Diallo incidents were. These issues need to be addressed and fixed but don’t look to Beyonce to be a leader or know anything, she is just an ass shaker trying to promote her product. She is not an intellect, that is not why she is famous, that is not her strength. Wealth/Class levels also factor in how police treat people too, it’s more than just race. Beyonce is less likely to be shot by a cop than your average white person. She’s not “unapologetically black” she is just using her race to sell some more records because it’s more convenient now. End of Story

    5. Someone should put her in a spaceship and shoot her off into space, fucking vile person with way more mouth/twitter fingers than talent.

    6. Can anyone point me to the “several white feminists” who have criticized “Formation” ? I have only been able to find one random twitter user, but several more sources that cite white feminists attacks but don’t give examples. I would sincerely appreciate any links folks have. If anyone else is interested I’ll share what I find.
