After receiving rave reviews for his hip hop side project with Fort Minor, ‘The Rising Tide’, Linkin’ Park’sMike Shinoda is now preparing to hit the road in 2006.
The Fort Minor tour (featuring Shinoda, Vin Skully, Tak, Ryu, and Cheapshot), will kick off in Minneapolis, Minnesota, January 28, and end February 9 in Atlanta. There will be several stops along the way, including New York, Philadelphia and Washington D.C.
Shinoda recently wrapped up tour dates in the UK, where fans were treated to reworked Linkin’ Park favorites, as well as an 11-piece band.
Every track on The Rising Tide was written, produced and composed nearly entirely by Shinoda himself.

The album features collaborations with Common, John Legend, Black Thought from The Roots, and Styles of Beyond.
“There were song styles and song topics that I wanted to attack that I felt I couldn’t really do with Linkin’ Park. This was a great way to see those ideas through,”Shinoda says of the album.
The whole project was executive produced by Jay-Z, with whom Linkin’ Park collaborated with for the Collision Course LP, which “mashed up” alternative rock with hip hop.
With his new album flying off the shelves, Mike Shinoda has a busy schedule for the rest of 2005 and 2006. “I am touring worldwide,” he admits. “But my attitude is ‘quality over quantity’. I probably won’t be doing a lot of shows, so if I’m playing in your area, you should probably come see it, because I might not come back any time soon!”
