In Las Vegas, the Billboard Awards featured some fine performances and allowed Kanye West to put his ego on full display in a manner reminiscent of the great Muhammad Ali. After spilling his soul when receiving his Artist Achievement Award to the packed MGM Arena, Kanye capped off a humble speech with a playful “I still think I’m the greatest.

Backstage Kanye noted that he has a really big project coming up that remains a secret as well as letting the people know what he has in store for 2006. G.O.O.D. Music will be releasing highly anticipated projects from the likes of Consequence, GLC and Farnsworth Bentley. He also says that he’s saving his collabo with John Mayer for his next album.

You want more Kanye news? Well it seems as if Mr. West will be getting into the film business. “I’m breaking into film, which is my new love. I actually had a meeting with Quentin Tarantino earlier today.” he told Billboard backstage. How will this play out? Sounds like it could be incredible given the fact that Kanye harbors so much talent.

As for the rest of the awards, Lil Jon and Usher took home “Rap Song of the Year” honors with “Lovers and Friends.” The interesting thing is that the song is so huge WITHOUT a video. 50 Cent took home “Rap Artists of the Year” honors as well “Ringtone of the Year” for “Candy Shop.”
