This week on the R&B/Hip Hop single sales chart, The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind The Madness single “In The Night” knocks Drake’s “Hotline Bling” off the top spot after the latter spent eight weeks at #1. Elsewhere, Missy Elliott’s return single “WTF (Where They From)” climbs to #6 and lastly, Alessia Cara’s debut single “Here” falls to #4.

The Weeknd Comes In At #1

As a result of a significant 47% increase in sales, The Weeknd’s single “In The Night” lands at #1 on this week’s chart, overtaking Drake’s “Hotline Bling.” During the seven days leading to December 17, the fourth single off the singer’s Beauty Behind The Madness album sold 59,673 units, taking its total sales since its official release to 174,317 copies.

Drake Slips To #2

Following eight successful weeks at #1, Drake’s “Hotline Bling” slips to #2 on this week’s chart as a result of the previously mentioned surge in sales by The Weeknd. In addition, “Hotline Bling” experienced a slight 3% decrease in sales, selling 50,789 units during the seven days leading to December 17.

The Weeknd’s hit single “The Hills” landed at #3 this week, selling 41,670 units during the seven days leading to December 17. Since its official release, the single has now sold a total of 2,443,689 copies.
