A$AP Ferg says A$AP Yams is “very much still alive” to him.

Nearly one year after A$AP Yams’ passing, A$AP Ferg spoke on what it’s like making music without the A$AP Mob founding member, during an interview with HipHopDX.

According to Ferg, Yams is still very much present and “still working.” He referred to Yams as an angel as he commented on the Hip Hop exec completing his mission with those in A$AP Mob and later moving on to help others.

“It might sound weird, but I really don’t look at Yams like he’s gone,” A$AP Ferg said. “He’s very much still alive to me. He’s still working. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t even be where I’m at, so I think he’s still working. He came to do what he did. He’s really the [tatted] angel. I feel like God put him here to complete a mission. Because really like Yams fell back after we all made it. He was just like ‘Yo, y’all niggas is good.’ He started working on different projects and started trying to develop new artists…He felt like ‘Damn, the bros is on already, so I did my job.’ He’s still working to this day. He’s not gone at all.”

A$AP Yams passed away in January of this year. A tribute concert dedicated to Yams is scheduled to take place in New York City on January 18. The concert will include performances from A$AP Ferg, A$AP Rocky, Joey Bada$$, and others.
