She’s got a reputation as a demanding diva but this time Naomi Campbell outdid herself.
The supermodel didn’t attend a lavish showbiz do in New York, hosted by her pal Damon Dash because it started unfashionably early and organizers refused to alter things for her at the last minute.
Campbell was one of several VIP guests Dash invited to an exclusive party celebrating the launch of a 5th Avenue showroom for the Tiret watch brand.
Dash and jeweler Daniel Lazar own the brand.

The Rolls-Royces had been booked, the Crystal champagne was on ice and the caviar was ready to be served. But before the doors opened at 7p.m. on Wednesday, 35-year-old Campbell decided that she didn’t like the arrangements.
According to an insider, Naomi asked that the whole Tiret showroom launch party be rescheduled because it started too early for her. Apparently she doesn’t like to go out to parties that begin in the early evening hours. A Rolls-Royce was booked for Naomi to use for the evening, but she didn’t want to come out before 10 p.m.
“After weeks of planning she asked that the time be changed. With so many VIPs coming, arrangements could not be changed just to fit in with Naomi. It’s a sophisticated reception on 5th Avenue not an all-night rave!”
Her no-show didn’t stop Monster’s Ball director Lee Daniels, billionaire Donny Deutsch and restaurateur Giuseppe Cipriani from having a good time.

Campbell is known for being temperamental. She is said to have thrown a strap at September’s London Fashion Week because she didn’t like a dress she was supposed to wear. But her people insist that she sat out of designer Chris Aire’s show because “she hurt her ankle traveling in the mountains”. Her spokesperson says of this latest incident, “The party wasn’t in her diary.”
