Jay-Z is planning a comeback, less than two years after “retiring” from the rap game.
The Brooklyn emcee hung up his microphone after the release of The Black Album in 2003. However, sources at Def Jam Records, where Jay is currently president, have revealed that he is struggling to stay away from the studio and is not completely satisfied with his behind-the-scenes role at Def Jam.
Rumours have even surfaced of Jigga heading back into the studio to record a new album.
A source close to the rapper told the New York Daily News, “He’s looking to get an album out by the beginning of summer. It’s on his radar.” He’s been talking with [Island Def Jam chairman] Antonio ‘LA’ Reid about it. The guest spots made him miss recording. He looks around and knows there aren’t a lot of people, except maybe Kanye, who can touch him.”
