Beyonce Knowles recently denied rumors she was married to long time boyfriend Jay-Z.
Knowles laughs that rumors of engagement and marriage can coexist: “I’m engaged and married at the same time?” The former Destiny’s Child singer merely said “No,” when asked about being hitched in the latest Vanity Fair issue. When talk turned to an engagement, she was similarly laconic, only stating, “I’m not.”
Now that she’s gone solo, Knowles, 24, has adopted a sexy stage persona that she calls Sasha.
“I always held back in Destiny’s Child, because I was comfortable in a group and felt that I didn’t have to do anything 100 percent, because there were other people on stage with me. I would not lose myself or go all the way,” she explains. Despite the image risk, Knowles does not have a problem returning to her gospel roots while at home.

“When I go back to Houston and go to church and see those people, I feel like the same country girl,” she says.
The Grammy-winning artist has starred in “Austin Powers Goldmember” and “The Fighting Temptations” on the big screen. She recently wrapped filming on the upcoming “The Pink Panther” with Steve Martin and signed on to star in Dream Works adaptation of the Broadway musical “Dreamgirls.”
