ABC Family announced on social media today (September 29) that it is partnering with Nicki Minaj for a comedy program. Deadline Hollywood was given the exclusive report.
The Young Money rapper is slated to executively produce and appear in the show, which is based on her life growing up in Queens, New York in the 1990s.
Minaj took to Instagram to announce additional information about the show.
“I am now launching a nation wide search to find #YoungNicki,” she writes under a screenshot of one of ABC Family’s tweets.

The series is written by Kate Angelo. Serving as executive producers alongside Angelo and Minaj are Aaron Kaplan, Stella Bulochnikov, Brian Sher and Gee Roberson.
“This is one of the more unique adventures I’ve ever embarked on,” Minaj says. “I couldn’t be more proud and excited to team up with an amazing group of people to give the world something really special.”

According to Variety, each episode will be a half hour and will be in the single-camera format.
