Troy Ave announced that he will be releasing Major Without A Deal: Reloaded as a mixtape on his Instagram yesterday (September 29).
Troy Ave also unveiled the cover art for the mixtape.
Upon the announcement of Major Without A Deal: Reloaded, the Brooklyn-bred rapper hinted at an October 5 or October 6 release date.
The mixtape follows Troy Ave’s previously released studio album, Major Without A Deal, which sold 7,708 units it’s first week.
The cover art for Major Without A Deal: Reloaded is as follows:
Lets see $10 x 7000 = 70,000 not too bad
Half to the government, percentage to his manager, studio time, promotions= $2500.
Doesn’t sound like it’s worth it to me.
Worth it? Worth what? Probably more than 90% of rappers lose money on their albums. To actually turn a profit, whether its enough to live on or not, is a nice achievement. Music is an art, and to have your art actually make money is amazing. Most artists make art because it’s what they love to do, not because they think it will get them rich one day. To have someone else appreciate your art enough to actually want to compensate you for your work is great feeling.
Lol even if that’s true, $70000 isn’t even enough to cover the cost of that Maserati. Bruh is so lame for this cover. LMAO!
50% direct tax doesn’t look real
Studio time? C’mon man im pretty sure dude owns a laptop with pro tools and a mic. Plus that was just in one week. Also that doesnt include singles and dude us independent 90% of that bread goes in his pocket
Not really. ITunes takes 40%, than, if he had a distribution deal, they are taking 15.
Indie Niqqas never get paid damn…
It says 7,700 units in the FIRST WEEK, not total. Even if he only did make 2,500, that’s 2,500 in a week. Not bad at all. but I don’t see how 70k turned into 2,500 in the first place that’s some crazy math.
He clearly stated in interviews that he keeps more than 80% of his dollars if he made almost 8k albums move u gotta multiply that by 80 and that’s how much he made first week not bad either for a block night to take that home in a week
DADON,
lol at your math dude. you don’t multiply that by 80, but by 0.8 which makes it 6400$ the first week. of course 80% is an exaggeration and he needs to pay for a lot of shit, so it’s a lot less than that. briefly saying, it was a flop. but that shouldn’t discourage him and he should keep doing his thing until he proves himself. french and juicy j flopped too; well, maybe on a different scale tho lol
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
“Major with out a deal” Was slept on, Underrated, Missed by most people it was really good album shame on hip now listening to Young Thug and Fetty wap over this. Hip Hop has become soft.
Troy ave in my opinion is a very underrated artist he’s had the misfortune of being so young he’s making nostalgic music in my opinion. if New York city the album major without a deal would’ve came out in the 90s 2000s easily it would be considered a five mic album. my problem with Troy is that he moves too fast he refuses to actually sit still and work the project..he did New York city the album and then immediately went into his BSB shit I just feel like artist should stop trying to put their boys on and starting these labels Do u ever remember LLcool J putting someone on? Nas? I’m tired of people trying to put their friends on, the market is oversaturated with the friendship deal if it isn’t someone better than you like when Fat Joe put on Punisher don’t do it. but getting back to Troy He needs to stop making all this music, stop with the label, stop with the group and just actually go for self it wouldn’t hurt him to come to the midwest and do some dates new york rappers always do the typical tristate, atlanta, miami and l.a. thing and think they’ve promoted the album. he should have maybe put a 30 minute hood movie with the album kind of like when Jayz did streets is watching to raise his awareness he’s proved he can make music he needs actually start working it.
